i prefer the "no lethal stakes" duels
in life or death duels OF COURSE the protagonists are gonna win because plot armor

the lower the stakes, the higher the chances of both duelists to win (and not knowing who will win improves the duel)

I hated Vrains because it wasted the supporting cast and refused to let them win. I hate Sevens and Go Rush because of the ridiculous oversimplification that's got everybody using monsters that are even weaker than the Vanillas played back in Duelist Kingdom and Battle City (Sure effect monsters were a thing in Battle City but it was still mostly reserved for boss monsters or ass pulls with a vanilla beater being the go-to starting strategy).

i mean, those were also technically early duel monsters duels

with just the "you will die if you lose" thing. look at marik's deck and bakura's decks from battle city which are one of the most boring decks ever besides "freaky asthethics" and their win conditions (marik's winged dragon of ra and yami bakura's destiny board and dark necrofear)

which honestly just make them dark and edgy AND boring because OF COURSE the main character won't lose a life threatening duel. which makes the situation boring and predictable

the lower stakes let both players have a chance at winning and be surprising

I really hope she gets to shine throughout the series since she has just right amount of everything plus Yuuhi pretty much confirmed she can be scary when mad and oh boy did she got rage in the eyes when called "little girl".... yea kid just don't mess with her, she will wipe the floor with you. I nearly died laughing when her ace turned out to be Bluetooth Dragon since it was ridicules and made sense at the same time XD I mean yea they definetely went with Blue Eyes White Dragon nostalgia, but in a way it fits with her deck and the whole IT chant... just love the mix of random and fitting puns. Also can't get enough of Yudias' innocent excitement and dedication to everyhing human related, he is just adorable XD Add Yuuhi running on a single braincell and Yudias tagging along and you have chaotic duo. And... was Manabu really clinging to that pole the whole time? He truly is dedicated to his work and from the looks of it he'll be like team rocket, appearing whenever he feels like it in order to capture Pikachu I mean Yudias but we will be actually excited to see him XD With 3 episode rule, I can say Go Rush does look more interesting than SEVENS. Not saying SEVENS was bad, I enjoyed its weekly randomness, but it lacked a more built up story. While it is still pretty early, Go Rush still added more mystery to its story with the whole alien thing like ZEXAL.

So the kid was just a Go Rush version of every single Dark Magician Girl otaku so far... can't really blame him tho, she has a really cute design. And he was actually stalking Yudias by the order of his supposed edgy blond ex? Is he finally show up in the next ep??? And more importunately, what exactly is Earthdamar???

I didn't like Romin's character all that much (Asana was better in my opinion) but Yuamu seems promising. I hope they can use it well

What's weird is the first 7's season at least had more humorous characters like Luke and didn't handicap their episodes by going through EVERY. SINGLE. CARD. TYPE like everyone is a brand new player with a barely functioning brain.

Luke was actually a garbage character in my opinion, just like every so-called character whose entire personality is basically just a single gag repeated over and over for an entire episode, and then the pattern gets repeated for an entire series.

it is the third episode and this anime basically is both for previous SEVENS audience, AND newcomers hencewhy they have a character who canonically never touched a card before the beginning of the series in yuudias

Can people stop complaining in the comments, if you don't like the show than don't watch it. Cause the old yugioh ain't coming back, so just accept it already. They are targeting towards kids, not us. So stop excepting this to be more than what it is. Rush duels are what the yugioh anime is going to be now. We are not getting master duels back, cause they is no longer a need to advertise for it, we have 6 animes for that, and besides most people who play the game don't watch the anime so why would they continue to target the us adults. They have to target to kids, otherwise once the older gen stops playing, than yugioh dies with them. To keep it going they have to bring in a new generation and they can't do that with master duels. So rush duels are here to stay, it is what it is now.

Yugioh dm was targeted to teens, not kids. The card opening thing was for comedy, but apparently you don't get the joke. Also cause it for kids, yes they do have to explain how the game works, cause there are going to be kids watching who have never seen yugioh before. And besides its only for a few eps, it not like they're taking a whole season, its no big deal. And most importantly they don't care that people want a mature yugioh again, so you and others complaining is not going to change that. So ether stop watching the show or shut up, cause I'm tired of seeing this in every comment section since Sevens, like we get it already, but its too bad. None of you are getting what you want. At most it'll be a little more mature than Sevens, but not by much, so don't expect it to. Don't like than leave, there are tons of other anime to watch.
